Braxton Wilson Obituary, Death – It was on August 15, 2020 when Harold Braxton Wilson, who had lived in Chase City all his life and had reached the age of 84, passed away. He was born on October 24, 1935, in Mecklenburg County, which was the location of his birth. In addition to his father, Jim Bailey Wilson, who had passed away, he was also the son of Geneva Reamey Wilson, who had also passed away.

He was a member of the congregation at the Friendship United Methodist Church in Chase City, where he frequented during his time there. In the end, Harold made the decision to resign from his position as a road foreman with the Virginia Department of Transportation after a lengthy career. Harold is survived by his wife, Joan Lenhart Wilson; two daughters, Wanda Wilson Dixon (Tommie) of Chase City and Tammy Wilson Johnson (Mark) of Chase City; one son, James “Jim” Wilson” (Michelle) of Chase City; two grandsons.

Joshua James Wilson (Katherine) and J.T. Johnson IV (Corinna); and four great-grandchildren, Johnny Johnson, Hannah Johnson, Christopher Johnson, and Madison Johnson. Harold predeceased his wife, Joan Lenhart Wilson. The community of Chase City counted Harold as a member for a considerable amount of time. His brother, Paul Wilson, and his wife Tonya, both of Gaffney, South Carolina, as well as his sister.

Frances Hall, and her husband John, of South Boston, as well as a large number of nieces and nephews, his best friend, Robert Lee Tucker, and all of his friends from the “Old Goat’s Club,” are among those who survive him. He was also survived by a large number of other relatives and friends. His brother Roy Wilson, as well as his parents, had already passed away before he was born. As the sole surviving member of his family, he was the only left.

During the graveside services that are scheduled to take place on Wednesday, August 19, at eleven o’clock in the morning, the Friendship United Methodist church cemetery will serve as the setting. Instead of sending flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be sent to Friendship United Methodist Church in his honor. This is in lieu of sending flowers.
