Escaped Inmate Found with Another Wanted Person in Fernley | News
At 1 p.m. on Wednesday, The Lyon County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Unit received information that fugitive Cory Tyler was in an apartment complex near 175 Hardie Lane in Fernley.
Two nearby schools were placed in a brief lockdown without incident as police investigated.
Through surveillance, detectives confirmed Cory Tyler was in the area with another wanted subject, Bradlee Morris.
Police arrested the two without incident.
Cory Tyler (pictured below) was booked into the Lyon county Jail for Escape, Probation violation, and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon.
Bradlee Morris (pictured below) was booked for the following:
- Out of County Felony Warrant
- Failure to Appear Warrant (Grand Larceny)
- Failure to Appear Warrant (Resisting Arrest)
- Possession of more than 1 ounce of Marijuana
Both suspects are currently being held without bail.

The escaped inmate, 30-year-old Cory Tyler was arrested on Friday afternoon after Lyon County Sheriff's Office deputies went to the 200 block of Granada Street in Fernley and found him.
He was arrested on a Nevada Parole and Probation warrant.
Tyler was then transported to the Fernley Substation for temporary housing, prior to being booked into the Lyon County Jail.
While at the substation, Tyler's handcuffs were removed and he was placed in a holding cell.
The transportation deputy failed to properly secure the cell and Tyler fled when the deputy left the area.
Tyler fled southeast on foot and his current location is unknown.
Tyler is currently wanted for the Nevada Parole and Probation warrant, and now for felony Penalties for Prisoner Who Escapes.
Tyler is believed to be unarmed, but the Sheriff's Office urges the public to exercise caution and to contact a local law enforcement agency if he's seen.
The Sheriff's Office is also reminding the public that helping Tyler in any way is punishable as a felony.
