Born in Canada, Kevin Baker began his academic journey at York University, where he earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Sociology. He later obtained a Juris Doctor degree from Osgoode Hall Law School, equipping him with a deep understanding of education’s legal intricacies. His thirst for knowledge led him to pursue a Doctorate in Higher Education Leadership from Aspen University in Colorado, where he focused on innovative predispositions and organizational innovation climates.

In 2011, Kevin joined Durham College and became the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Business in 2018.
