A saltwater crocodile has been captured after it was spotted swimming in swollen floodwaters in a north Queensland town.
The 2.8m beast was spotted in Palm Creek in the small town of Ingham on Monday before authorities were notified.
Ingham has been cut-off to the north and south due to ongoing floods caused by ex-tropical cyclone Jasper and heavy rain that has impacted north Queensland for some days.
The town of roughly 4000 people copped around 130mm of rainfall in the 24 hours till Sunday evening.
Wildlife officers captured the 2.8m saltie on Monday morning before it was placed inside a holding cage.
