By William Howard •
The Elko County Sheriff’s Office is now heading an investigation into a fatal officer-involved shooting near the Utah border over the weekend.
The Elko Daily Free Press reports that on Saturday West Wendover police shot and killed a man who allegedly pulled a knife on them.
Our affiliate in Salt Lake City identified him as 41-year-old James Robertson of Francis, Utah.
Robertson had led officers on a pursuit before crashing at a gas station on I-80.
He tried to flee on foot... but was stopped by police.
The sheriff’s office has not said what led up to the fatal shooting.
